A Passage Giving Courage and Hope from Nichiren Daishonin’s Writings “The Zo-en Chapter”

Original text:

Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, which you chant, is like boarding a great ship and entering the great ocean. Though the waves may be high and the wind strong, the ship is sturdy and well-equipped with both rudder and sail. Moreover, those who chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo have gained the wisdom and power of the Buddha. The wisdom and power of the Buddha are like the great ocean, without bottom or shallows. Those who chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo sit in the midst of the great ocean and have gained the wisdom and power of the Buddha. With the wisdom and power of the Buddha, they can eliminate all difficulties and achieve all blessings.

Those who chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo sit in the midst of the great ocean and have gained the wisdom and power of the Buddha. With the Buddha’s wisdom and power, they can overcome all difficulties and achieve all blessings.
