Encouraging passage from the writings of Nichiren Daishonin: Reply to Shijo Kingo (On the Lotus Sutra’s Military Strategy)

Original text

“With such a teaching as this, you should be able to subdue even the most powerful enemy. For example, even Mount Sumeru, the king of all mountains in the entire major world system, can be blown away like dust and ash by the wind. How much more so the foolish people of the Latter Day of the Law! For this reason, those who study the Lotus Sutra and chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo are certain to attain Buddhahood.”

Meaning

This powerful passage is recorded in the Reply to Shijo Kingo (On the Lotus Sutra’s Military Strategy). Nichiren Daishonin strongly states that no matter how powerful the enemy, one can surely overcome them with the power of the Lotus Sutra.
