“Chanting ‘Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ is tantamount to chanting ‘Nam-Jikkai-Myohō’. The ‘Jikkai-Myohō’ refers to the Honzon of the Buddhas of the ten directions and three existences. The Honzon encompasses Shakyamuni Buddha, Taho Buddha, Medicine Buddha, Amida Buddha, Treasured Buddha, Myoho Buddha, Earth Store Bodhisattva, Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Manjushri Bodhisattva, the Buddhas of the ten directions, the Sun, Moon, and Stars, the eight groups of heavenly and dragon deities, the six realms of reincarnation, all plants, trees, and stones, all phenomena, and ‘Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ itself.”
