国に衰微なく土は破壊なくんば、身はこれ安全にして心はこれ禅定ならん
Meaning:
This passage is part of the “Rissho Ankoku Ron,” which explains that the Lotus Sutra is the true Buddhist teaching that brings peace and prosperity.
“If the country does not decline and the land is not destroyed,” refers to a state where the land is stable and free from disasters and wars. “The body is safe, and the mind is in meditation,” means that people living in such a land are in a state of both physical and mental peace, close to enlightenment.
In other words, Nichiren Daishonin teaches that by believing in and practicing the Lotus Sutra, true peace and prosperity can be achieved, and people can be happy in both body and mind.
